For Good Animal Rescue Bandon Offers A Recommendable Destination

By Matthew Butler

In any ecosystem, animals are a very important part just like trees. A lot of drastic activities could happen on earth if animals were removed and the ultimate losers would be human beings. Human being started the domestication process because of the need to relate with the environment. Nowadays, various animals which were thought to be wild before are now staying with people in their homes comfortably. When in search of Animal rescue Bandon should be given priority.

However, both domestic and wild animals experience lots of threats from the activities of man. For example, millions of domestic animals roam the streets in the United States since they have no permanent homes. Similarly, the habitats of very many wild animals have been destroyed which render them homeless. Vagrancy of animals normally predisposes them to the risk of death and may lead to extinction if left to happen for long enough.

In the United States alone, between 5 and 7 million companion animals are taken into animal shelters because they do not have permanent homes. What is even more shocking is that between 3 and 4 million cats and dogs are euthanized every year because they do not have people to adopt them. Unfortunately, capturing, sheltering, euthanizing, and finally disposing millions of animals every year costs the US taxpayer about 2 billion dollars.

The number of animals which are homeless outnumbers that of people who are homeless by a factor of 5 to 1. Pets which stay in shelter homes have either their owners giving them up or are found by animal control. From research, more than 20 percent of people that abandon animals in shelters also adopted them from shelter centers. The percentage of dogs entering local shelters is 25 percent only.

Animal rescue groups are doing a good job of removing stray animals from the streets. However, they do not provide the best care for the animals they have. This is usually because of a lack of funds in most cases. Some of these shelters are funded by well-wishers only. That limits their access to funds, making them to provide poor care and shelter for the animals they have in their possession.

There are many animal rescue groups operating within various states in the US. Some of these groups specialize in the type of animal breeds they accommodate whereas others take in every type and breed of animal. For example, rescue groups for reptiles, Siberian cats, Egyptian maus, ragdolls, Labrador retrievers, and German shepherds exist.

Some groups specialize in rescuing and saving wild animals from extinction. For instance, human encroachment has put very many animals in danger of extinction as their habitats are destroyed or modified. An example of an animal that has had its habitat destroyed is the polar bear. More and more reports of encounters with polar bears are being reported as they move far from their natural habitats.

These instances put both man and bear at risk from each other. Consequently, the population of bear is drastically dropping and if no measures are taken to rescue them, they may become extinct. Therefore, groups have been developed to provide home and food and to rescue bear.
