Some Well Known Cat Breeds And The Personalities They Display

By Robert Baker

Like dogs there are many different types of cat breeds. Each feline family has its own distinct trait and they make wonderful family pets. The Manx, Siamese, Persian, Russian Blue, and Burmese are just a few of the feline families that are found all over the world. Along with their differing colorings and markings the kitties of the world have their own personalities.

The Burmese families come in a variety of colors from tortoiseshell to solid colors including silver platinum and honey beige. These kitties are extremely friendly and are extremely talkative to people and other animals. They love hanging out on a lap and playing with kitty toys.

The Russian Blue family is also a very affectionate feline. Another family that is quite intelligent they love to sit back and survey their surroundings including their human pets. Yes they believe they are the master and once they approve of you they will become eternally devoted. It will be very hard to break away when they want to play. But all the attention given is very worth the reward they give back.

Persian felines have been around for many years even though there exact origins are unknown. Unlike other kitties they prefer a quiet environment and do not enjoy being held in a rough manner. This makes them ideal for families that have older children or no children living at home. With their scrunched noses and bob tails they have an adorable expression on their faces at all times.

Due to a genetic deformity somewhere in the early times of the Manx feline family they lost the skeletal vertebrae that a tail consists of. Even though they have no tail they still have nerve endings in that area so care should be taken when handling these kitties. This feline family is very lovable and is known for forming long lasting bonds with their families.

Siamese are very intelligent, graceful and loyal. They love to play and can play fetch with the best of them. They however should not be left alone for any length of time at all. Getting a second Siamese is recommended if the kitty will be left alone for any period of time.
