Know much more about a dog's life by reading through this article

By Ian E. Newman

For years, we knew for a fact that our 135 pound Newfoundland slept on the bed or the couch - while we were gone, so we bought him a memory foam bed and now we don't have that problem any more! This memory foam bed operates just like the ones we humans use.So, your dog gets the same benefits of support especially if you have an older dog with joint problems. We placed his bed directly under the ceiling fan, at the end of our bed. There were many times, when we caught him in a state of nirvana as he just lay in bed on his back with his fur floating in space.

He is one contented dog!

Since he is getting older, we make an effort that he stays physically fit and emotionally happy. We want him to live long. BooBoo, as we amorously call him, is spoiled all the time but only up to the extent that is not damaging to his health. We monitor his food intake, and see to it that it's not beyond the limit and the food he eats is healthy. Even his treats are healthy. He has the propensity to drink and eat his food in mouthfuls, as do most animals. In a matter of seconds, his food disappears.

He drinks a lot of water and we noticed he would just gulp it as well. We searched for studies and found out that gulping food is harmful for BooBoo. It can cause acid reflux, overeating, erratic eating, choking, vomiting, digestive and nausea problems. Then, we found these really amazing bowls for food and water where it controls his eating and drinking tempo. I guess somebody has to invent one for us too, since we humans like to accelerate everything.

I'm not sure if you have seen a Newfoundland dog. It's breed has a very thick coat that sheds a lot of oily dander. Their fur serves as their protection and insulation from the freezing waters of Newfoundland during rescues. Nevertheless, the prickly heat of the summer in our place can be unpleasant for him.

His coat makes a distinctive smell and sheds many hairs.During the winter months he really begins to smell. We don't like bathing him during winter because his fur dries too slow. Therefore we had to use other methods of making and keeping him fresh. Yes, we found it. We stumbled upon an incredible brush. It is an ionized brush that uses negative charges for cleaning, removing odors, and untangling fur. Water or any chemical is unnecessary. So now during the winter months, BooBoo smells and feels as clean during the summer ones, and everyone is happy.

We certainly spoil our pets. Nevertheless, they give back so much. To keep your dog in a state of good health, make certain that he/she gets ample exercise, right amount of healthy food and water, enough rest and most specially a lot of affection.
