Rottweiler Training: Housebreaking Tips

By David Lamb

A dog is a man's (or woman's) best friend! Dogs are fantastic pets to come home to at the end of a long day or take for a run around the nearest park. But would you still be happy to come home and see urine stains on the rug or your pet's poop underneath the table? If you wish to make your bond with your dog better, having your pet dog housebroken is extremely important. Below you will find suggestions and clues to help you with Rottweiler training method so you and your treasured Rottweiler can have a mess free, relaxing and enjoyable time together.

Potty training a puppy can be a harsh task sometimes, but not impossible. When they're so young, they do not have full control of their bladders just yet. Additionally, they have no idea that it's wrong to do their business in areas apart from that you prefer as their bathroom. Do your best to observe your puppy and if he starts looking like he has to go to the toilet let him outside, after the pup goes to the bathroom praise him so he will know he did the correct thing.

To help your pup find out appropriate toilet habits, training them by using a crate is a good strategy. Dogs do not like using the bathroom near where they rest or spend much time, so take advantage of this natural preference of canines and train your own to use the toilet outside or in the area you desire by taking him out every hour or so. Additionally, take your pet out about 15 minutes after he eats or drinks anything. Through consistency, the process will not only stop him from doing his business inside the crate but also help him learn to control it and at some point develop regular potty schedule. Reward your pet with treat or praise whenever he goes on the designate spot.

Fix your puppy's mistakes only when you catch him in the act of doing it. Dogs do not understand anything that is not in the "here and now" and shouting at him will not help him learn. Trying to fix a puppy's mistake after the deed is done is only going to have an adverse effect.

Having your pet trained can make all the difference in your relationship. By considering the above tips, you'll be able to have a better moment with your dog with less headache and mess. If your dog was not your best friend before, he or she is going to be after some simple Rottweiler training!
