Breeder is the title given to a person who mates certain specimens in order to reproduce a breed that has the desired characteristics and qualities. Individuals interested can find a goldendoodle breeder in nearly any region of the world. These individuals specialize in the crossbreed that includes golden retrievers and poodles. Dogs are considered popular pets as puppies and even adults.

This dog was given its name circa 1990s. It is taken from the names of the two parent breeds: golden comes from the retriever and doodle is based n poodle. Different types of goldendoodles exist. In fact, there are even miniature ones. Breeders might specialize in a particular size, age or color when it comes to this breed.

This crossbreed has existed for many decades. It originated during a time with North American and Australian breeders were crossing standard retrievers and poodles. The reasoning for doing this was in order to create guide dogs for those who had visual impairments and also had bad allergies. In fact, there are many who consider this a designer dog, which is a term that dates to the twentieth century. This term was first used when purebred poodles were being paired with other purebreds in order to create a breed that was thought to be hypoallergenic and still had other favorable traits of different dog breeds.

This dog is often bred to be a companion. They are known to be a good family pet, especially when members of the family are known to have allergies to animals. Some might prefer to have these has puppies so they can establish a bond with them, and enjoy their playfulness and energy. Sometimes these are bred for the specific purpose of serving as therapy, guide, or assistance dogs, especially for people with severe allergies.

There are numerous reasons why individuals might choose this type of dog. Some prefer it because they like retrievers but are not interested in a dog that is known to shed a lot. Not all goldendoodles carry the non-shedding trait of the poodle. Still, they are expected to shed less than many other dogs. Know that some breeders will claim that this crossbreed is hypoallergenic, but there is not solid proof to date that supports such claims.

The dog is expected to look different as it matures and grows. As an adult it will be more obvious which of the parent breed it takes after. While young, these animals are typically small and might grow to be standard or medium in size.

There are also mini versions available through certain breeders. Like any other form of crossbreed, the appearance of each animals will differ. They may come in different sizes, colors and with different coats. Wavy, straight and curly are the most common coats seen with this crossbreed.

People who have interest in owning these should do research on the breed and the breeder in advance. These are considered an ideal pet for any people, especially those who loves animals but suffer with allergies. The pricing, as well as availability, of the animals will range by location.
