What Your Pet Will Learn At Dog Obedience Classes San Antonio Has To Offer

By Marci Nielsen

There is nothing that is more refreshing than having a puppy to come home to after a long day at work. Dogs are wonderful pets because of their amazing capacity for love, intelligence and the fact that they are so loyal. However, there are many people that have reservations about keeping pets because of issues such as a soiled house, and aggressive behavior such as biting and attacking strangers. These are problems that can easily be fixed when you enroll your pet at the dog obedience classes San Antonio has to offer. Here are some of the things your pet will learn.

The things these people dread include having a soiled house, torn upholstery, defiant pets, and others. What these people do not know is that with reliable pet training, even the naughtiest of all puppies will become agreeable and benign. Below are things that these canines learn at the centers.

Simple cues such as come, go, sit among others are the basics when it comes to communicating with your canine. For little puppies, it can be confusing when they receive these orders and do not know what behavior is supposed to be elicited after the cue. The trainers know how to use conditional training. They match the order or cue with the modeled behavior. They repeat the same so many times that the canines internalize the behavior.

The puppy will be taught how to behave when in the house. They will learn the different purposes of the different parts of the house. The trainer helps them learn where to sleep, eat, and most fundamental, where to poop. With comprehensive training, it will be hard to find your puppy urinating or going number two on your furniture, carpets or floors.

Once your pet completes the basic training, it then joins the intermediate level. During the intermediate training, the trainers reinforce the skills the pet had initially learned and add new ones as well. If, for instance, the puppy was taught how to respond upon being instructed to sit, the trainers will assess the effectiveness of the entire training and teach the pet the obey-tips it seems to have forgotten.

The pets will also be taught to follow instructions that are a little bit more complex. These may include heel, go to bed, and other more complex tasks. By the end of this training, the pet should be able to obey most common orders.

As you can see the classes are subdivided according to the skill level; the beginners sessions, intermediate and advanced. The advanced classes are the most complex as they cover specific skills requested by the owner according to his needs. Each stage takes about a month to six weeks.

As stated, this pet training is exceptional because it is divided into several levels. There is the beginners class where the basic skills are taught. This is followed by the intermediate, where your pet is taught how to be smarter, and then the advanced where the pet will learn the skills that you specifically need it to know.
