The All Natural Dog Treats Ny Residents Love

By Deborah Brooks

Dogs have been mans companion, and best friend for decades. Man and hound share a special symbiotic relationship, with each relying on each other for comfort and food and many other necessities. Living in the modern world means that one can afford to treat pets lavishly with all sorts of interesting items. The all natural dog treats NY pet lovers buy are a well worth the price.

They are a expensive and popular way for people to heap treats and presents onto their dogs. Previously dogs forms of sustenance came from eating table scraps, or processed food that has been purchased from the shops. However the choice that dogs now have in what they want to eat has increased exponentially in the last few years. There are quite a few bakeries that specialize in feeding dogs in NY now.

Not only do these bakeries produce only food specific to the canine kind, but these are also artisan bakeries. This means that the food is not produced in mass, instead it is baked usually on site with fresh ingredients and it is baked by hand.

Just like humans, dogs are vulnerable to the unhealthy foods and what they have in them. The opening of artisan bakeries for dogs is a reaction to the dog treat industry. Just like the human fast food industry the dog treat industry is meant to churn out large amounts of food in as short a time as possible, to keep making profits.

The sheer amount that needs to be produced to feed the dog population is massive. So there are often shortcuts that have been taken in the production of the food. This means that dog kibble may contain all sorts of chemicals and hormones that are not good for dogs. An owner of one of these bakeries in NY that have opened up did it because her dog was overweight, even though the dog did not over eat. She did some research into what goes into the food in the dogs bowl and was horrified by the chemicals and hormones that are being pumped into them.

For a dog with taste, these artisan bakeries offer many different options and flavors. Free range chicken, venison and liver are just a few of the flavors of biscuit available in these shops. Doggy cupcakes are also quite popular and look almost like a human cupcake. Vegan flavors are also available, but considering a dog is a carnivore the hounds don't go in much for the vegan lifestyle.

However although these doggies treats are great for your hounds health and well being, they do cost more than your average treat. The price is probably what it is because of the price of the raw ingredients. Fresh, local and organic is often the more expensive kind of ingredients and this shows in the price of the cookies and cupcakes.

Owners of dogs and the dogs themselves are spoiled for choice if they live in NY. There are thousands of shops catering to humans and there are now also many canine food shops that are popping up all over the city, making many dogs in NY very happy hounds.
