Some Information Before You Buy From Ragdoll Breeders TICA

By Richard Morgan

Right now you are in the market for a new pet or a replacement pet, and you may have set your heart on a cat to keep you company. Some of your friends may have told you to surf through some ragdoll breeders TICA websites for information that you can work with. Do read on in this article for some information you may need to help you make a final decision.

Its trademark ability is to become boneless and very limp once it is picked up or handled. This ability thus has resulted in it getting the same name as its namesake, the ragdoll. In term of fur colors, it will either have bluish or reddish hue colors, but its eyes will always be blue. At maturity, males will be able to achieve twenty pounds in weight while the females will get as heavy as fifteen pounds.

Those looking for a loving cat will not go wrong when buying this breed. However, its ability to willingly give lots of love is also its downfall. Since it is so friendly it can be picked up by anyone and be whisked away. Thus always keep it inside to avoid it being stolen and also to avoid it from getting into any fights with other animals, which it is always doomed to lose.

This breed is one of the few cat breeds that actually love to be near water or just around it. This is a good characteristic for you will not get a fussy animal when its time for a bath. It has matting and tangling prone fur however so it is imperative that you give it regular brushings of its fur. Expect also for it to shed much more during springtime when it gets rid of its winter coat.

The regular brushings do more than increase the bonding between cat and master, it also does one very important function. Regular brushings assist in the even distribution of epidermal oils that keep the fur shiny and strong.

This cat breed acts much like a dog in the way it follows its master around wherever he or she goes. When playing with things it is interested in, it will usually paw at it rather than claw at it like other cats. This therefore makes it safer to keep with children when compared to most other breeds. Thus there is really no need to declaw them.

Expect the lifespan of this cat breed to be around the average range of fifteen to twenty years. However, you can also extend this lifespan with some extra care and maintenance and of course carefully selected nutrition. Keeping it inside a majority of the time will assist it from getting sick from outside viruses and infections.

As with any pet, regardless of breed or type, it will take a lot of responsibility and commitment, as it is not an inanimate object that you are dealing with. This article should have provided a bit of insight for your final decision as it should, but it will not hurt for you to also seek other sources of information that may aid you in making the best decision you can make.
