Looking For Registered Holland Lop Bunnies For Sale

By Gary Snyder

Holland lops are breed of rabbits originating from Netherlands and are popular as a pet and show animal. They are the smallest in the lop eared breed and come in many colors classified as solid and broken or spotted. It is necessary for them to be housed in a cage with plenty of room because of their activeness and playfulness.

New rabbit owners are usually recommended to have these as their pets because of their size and temperament. This is the reason why many people are finding registered Holland lop bunnies for sale to buy one. Here are some guides in finding a breeder in your area that is selling them.

Start searching using the internet for breeders that sell them in your area and acquire their contact information. You may also use the local newspapers or yellow pages in searching for one which may have placed advertisements there. Make a list of all those you found and get more information about them in helping you make a choice.

Ask recommendations from your friends and family members if someone they know is selling the breed yo are looking for. They may have purchased one or someone they know did and they could refer them to you. If the ones they recommended are not on your list yet then add them and gather more information on them too.

Do some background research on them including the number of years they have been breeding these rabbits. This will show they have the skills and experiences acquired from doing this for a number of years. They would not have last this long if they do not know what they are doing.

Check if they do breed pedigree ones or do not though having one is not essential unless you like to become a breeder as well. It is just fine not having pedigrees if you just like them as pets or if planning to join some rabbit show competitions. Joining one is possible if you have tattooed permanently an ear number and provide information such as birth date and class they wold enter.

The breeder must also be willing to spend a day with you to explain everything you need to know about your future pet. They must be willing to offer a guarantee that the rabbits are healthy and tamed well. If they do not want to entertain your question then they probably are selling ones that are sick and not tamed well.

Pet stores usually sell their bunnies in a more expensive price compared to the price breeders are offering. They also tend to place mature male bunnies together in a cage with female ones of different ages. Breeding may occur which might result in having your new pet die from having babies very early.

Inquire on the prices then compare it to other breeders in determining which has a better deal being offered. Remember that the price is not the main factor in considering on where to buy a rabbit from. Prepare properly for the pet before the sale is finalized.
