You might have set your sights on a cat, and since you saw a North Carolina ragdoll kittens for sale sign your interest is piqued. Do read on in this article before you plunk down your money for one of these kittens.

As such the cat is named after a toy popular before the turn of the century called ragdoll. The doll is basically just cloth patched up together with no structure and very soft and limp. This cat will act limp and boneless once it is picked up, hence the name. Since they are very tame, it helps to keep them inside the house all the time for it is quite easy to steal them. Keeping them inside also keeps them safe from strays.

The breed is good to have around children for it is very safe. It is a cat that will tend to paw at things rather than scratch or claw at things when playing. Thus you will not need to really declaw it or have fear of it accidentally scratching someone in the home.

Although they will come in a number of colors, the cat has two very distinguishing marks to set it apart from other cats. Their eyes will always be blue, no matter what. A ragdoll will have eyes of no other color. They are also mitted most of the time, this means that they will have patterns on their feet that look like they are wearing white mitts or socks. They are also quite big for domestic cats, reaching up to twenty pound. Thus at times you will need to use two hands to carry them.

Of all the cats, this breed will be almost doglike in their actions. They love to follow their masters around and be part of any activity that may be ensuing. They can also be taught to play fetch and will always wait for you patiently at the door should you enter another room. They also like to play with stuffed animals and carry it around with them just like dogs also.

The breed is generally healthy throughout its lifetime, which can last for up to fifteen years on average. They will be prone to hear complications and heart problems as age progresses, so it is good to watch their diet as they get older and let them have regular visits to the vet when able.

Grooming and brushing is no problem for this breed, as they quite enjoy it. It is recommended that you make your weekly brushing with it a ritual of some sort to increase your bonding. You should brush its fur at least twice a week to prevent tangling and matting. Do also practice regular ear cleaning and nail trimming to prevent complications.

In sum the article has shown some basic information about this breed that you can think about and review. You should always get more information on any potential pet that you want so as to prepare you to be a committed and a responsible owner
