Tips In Caring For Your Australian Labradoodle

By Linda Ruiz

There are certain animals, such as dogs, which are very cute and very irresistible. A distinct number of them have even saved a number of human lives and are being considered as heroes. Because of these, adults and kids think and believe that they are their best friends.

All dogs, like humans, are also in need of proper care and maintenance. For your Australian Labradoodle, there are also several things that you need to keep in mind to ensure its proper growth. Caring for your dog is also similar to caring for a little child.

Your pet should be vaccinated a couple of times to keep him from acquiring illnesses especially rabies. These illnesses pose great perils to other animals as well as to human beings. These vaccines will be administered by a veterinarian within your locality.

A dog also has his nutritional needs which is why you have to question your veterinarian about certain foods that he needs. There are a lot of dog foods which are filled with nutrients that can help in his development. They tend to eat more so you may have to check foods that fit your set budget. After every meal, the pooch should also be given clean water.

Dogs are naturally curious. They chew on almost anything that they can get hold of and sniff things even if they should not be allowed to get close to them. Within your house, his safety should be ensured by putting away poisonous substances. There are also specific foods that should be eaten by dogs, in general. You can know more about these foods from your veterinarian.

His safety should also be taken into consideration when he is outside. The fences should be strong enough and should not have any holes where he might enter and escape. Pointy objects, such as nails, should be kept in their proper places so as not to be eaten by him.

You should also see to it that he is groomed properly. You can use dog shampoos and bath soaps. He needs to be bathed from his head to his toes. To dry him once he is done, you can use a towel. You should also comb his feathers, especially if they are long. Proper grooming will keep him away from dog lice and will keep him clean.

Aside from the body, there are also other parts that you need to take care of such as the ears, the teeth, and the nails. The ears should be cleaned carefully as they are one of most sensitive parts of a dog. For the teeth, there are chewable items that could help whiten his teeth. His nails should also be trimmed so as not to hurt you or those individuals who want to cuddle him.

Since he does not know what is wrong or what is right and tends to do what he wants, you should be able to train him. You should impose obedience on his part as well as potty training. It is good to start these when he is still young. You should speak to him like how you speak with a person. Even though he does not understand anything that you say, it will assure him that you will take care and protect him.
