How Cost Effective Round Bale Hay Net Is

By Iva Cannon

Horse farms are finding effective ways to keep their horses healthy and well fed but at the same time, be able to save costs. The bill for getting the hays which are the primary food for these animals reaches high amounts which is up to forty percent of the total farm expenses. Thus, it is crucial to invest on hay nets that control the feeding but does not deprive the animals from getting the adequate amount of food intake.

There is a need to really take extra care of equines. They cost a lot and they are sold in hundreds or thousands of dollars depending on the breed. One of the most effective feeding mechanisms for horses is the round bale hay net. This is now widely used in farms situated in different regions.

The use of such nets will enable them to save costs and time as well. The feeds will last for twenty four hours at least, choking hazards for equines will be decreased, old horses will be benefited, and eye injuries will be reduced. These are very significant changes and will ultimately affect the financial stability of the farm in a positive manner.

They will slowly consume the hays fed to them because the net serves as a controller. Some horses like to get more than enough but they are just wasting them in the process. So they need this controller to control wastes as well.

Choking incidents will be reduced using this because they will not be able to get large amounts. They will just gradually get the feed with their mouth, teeth, and tongue. Small amounts will not make them choke. Thus, the safety of the animals is assured.

Without the nets, they could injure their eyes especially when they put their heads into the feeder. With the net, they will be able to avoid such injuries. In addition, they can be potentially harmed if they have eye problems. Hence, this is also beneficial for the health and safety of these animals.

Older horses will also be given equal chances at feeding. They are already slow so they can only eat as much. With this, they will be able to get the approximate amount of feed that will satisfy their stomach. In addition, the smaller ones will also be safe and given equal shares.

The nets are made durably from polyethylene. They are made to be slightly stretchable so that the equines will not have a hard time pulling off a hay. They also have stabilized UVs with strong drawstrings used to tie the net underneath securely. There are smaller holes for the mini equines, ponies, and follies. And there are larger holes for the fully grown equines.

They also come in different shapes like round or square with varying hole sizes. The setup must be done correctly. It is recommended that the nets are put from the top and then down. The drawstrings have to be securely tied down below so that net chewing will be avoided. The hay must be positioned on a dry ground because they do not like it wet.
