Ways To Find A Good Siberian Cat Breeder For You

By Sandra Sanders

There are many benefits to having pets at home. Fun, loving and can greatly help manage stress, cats are perfect pets. While some people can manage with just having one others need to have many of these furry angels at their home. Cats in particular are just great companions because they are small and it is super easy to potty train them.

The Siberian Cat originated from Russia and are known to be the second largest breed of cats, the first would be the Maine Coon. Getting a purebred one from a Siberian cat breeder may be expensive, but guaranteed they are so worth it. Personality wise these felines are very gentle compared to other types.

Looking for the right breeder that sells these babies can be a bit difficult. A little research would go a long way before you go an decide on one breeder right away. Their reputation amongst others in their industry should be good, and this also includes the vets in the area. There should be a close knit cat society in your area.

Create a list of people of who you plan to get the cats from. Not getting from a breeder, when you would prefer a pure breed could result to some medical complications for the cat. Check out their websites if they have any and check on the reviews that their clients have for them.

Those who take the matter seriously are guaranteed to be registered in societies and other breeding authorities. If you can clarify their certification, you can assure that the kitten you buy is healthy. The process involved in getting the right mix of genes for the cat, on the breeders end, can be tasking. So if they are serious about this matter, a registration and other certifications should be present.

Meet up with the breeder and maybe even check where they breed their animals. Those that do this solely for the money are likely not to breed these creatures in the best conditions. There are those that really do love their pets so they make sure that these animals and their environment are pristine and perfect for them. Watch out for kitty mills because they just produce them for the sake of numbers.

There are some people or shops that breed felines like they were in a factory, better known as kitten mills. Mills are known for producing so many but not taking great care of these animals. In some instances customers are ripped off saying that the animal they got was purebred even if they were not.

The basic rule about kittens is that they should not be separated from their mothers at an early age. A good 10 to 14 weeks should be good. If you see those people selling kittens younger than this, it is a significant red flag. Siberians are quite difficult to keep at top condition so you may want to be extra careful about this.

Ask well constructed questions. The breeder should also show concern about who will be getting their kittens. A good sign is if they, in turn are also evaluating you. The more knowledgeable they are, the better. An honest one would not hesitate about telling you the disadvantages and congenital downsides of a certain feline that you picked.
