Best Sofas When You Have Pets

By Rob Jackson

Almost every person who has ever kept a pet knows that pets and sofas are two things that can never coexist peacefully. The reason for this is very simple. The biggest problem people with pets face is that their couches become hard to clean with regard to hair, stain and odour. Furthermore, the life of a sofa also goes drastically down if there is a pet in the house.

A prime example of this would be a dog jumping on a sofa and scratching or tearing it and a cat clawing at it. The best solution for the problem of pets on these items of furniture is to get a leather one. Here are some reasons why leather is ideal for people who have pets in the house.

The hair will cease to be a problem: If you are using a leather couch, then the biggest problem pertaining to pets i.e. cleaning off the hair gets resolved automatically. A fabric one would require you to jump through hoops before you actually end up removing all pet hair from it. In fact, you may have to use various techniques and methods to get rid of the hair on it, ranging from vacuum cleaners to the tape technique. In contrast, if you have a leather couch all you need to do is wipe it and all the hair will come off.

Leather couches have long lives: One of the most beneficial aspects of a leather one is that it has an extremely long life, especially when compared to a conventional fabric one. As a matter of fact, a good leather couch can last your whole lifetime.

Moreover, leather would also be less susceptible to the claws and nails of your pets. Along with this, you would actually be able to keep it for a lifetime because it is always "in", with regard to style and fashion. It would be stain resistant: One very common problem with a fabric couch is that if some kind of beverage or food item falls on it then there is a serious risk of staining. These types of stains can be particularly difficult to remove as well. On the other hand, a leather one is almost always stain resistant.

Distinct pet smells are bygones: Finally, most animals like dogs and cats have a distinct smell that is frustratingly difficult to avoid. Houses with cats or dogs in them end up having this ever present miasma of animal smells that whips out whenever the main door opens. These smells exist for so long because different things in the house catch and retain them. A fabric couch would be one of these things. With leather London sofas, you would not have this problem because they are not only stain resistant but also odour resistant; perfect for the city!

The above mentioned benefits of leather couches means that you can not only keep yourself free from all the problems of fabric ones and pets but also give your dogs and cats the freedom to lounge wherever they want, whenever they want.
