Tips for Keeping a Cat Busy

By Peter Fred Smith

Cats generally like to keep to themselves but even still they can be curious little critters. So it is good to keep them busy rather than letting them get into trouble.

Cats are often clever creatures and if left to their own devices, they are sometimes too smart for their own good. Curiosity killed the cat so it is better to give them something safe to do.

Some people believe that cats don't need to be entertained and they don't get any toys for them. This is just not the truth because when you put some toys in front of a cat you see how happy they get.

Sometimes you can get away with the class string and it is possible to keep the cat out of trouble with something like this. This is one of the classic choices for a feline.

Something else that you can go for is a scratching post. With one of these you keep your furniture safe but you give your cat something to scratch those claws on so everyone wins.

But don't think that just because the classics are so effective that you can't go with something new. But when you do go with one of the classics you are picking something that a cat can do on its own for a while at a time.

Many cats enjoy chasing after something that they can hit around a little bit. So you might want to go for something that hangs off a little stick and you can move it around for the cat to run after.

Something like this provides great entertainment for your cat and they don't get tired of it very quickly. This is something that you can enjoy with your cat.

Most cats are very curious and most things that address that curiosity will be good toys. Most of these choices can do wonders for keeping your cat busy.
