Around children, one need not worry about this cat scratching them as they prefer to paw things rather than claw them when playing. The breed is also quite known for its longevity. Its average lifespan is anywhere from 15 years to 20 years. However, one can still extend the average lifespan by being more vigilant in keeping this cat indoors, so as to avoid untoward incidents and also the once in a while infectious disease.
