By Diane Kelly

Most people enjoy the feeling of cleanliness their pets usually have after being groomed. However, very few can reproduce the same results if they decided to clean the pets on their own. It is therefore important to find out the best den to Denton dog groomer and learn as much as you can so that you may be able to do the grooming yourself when the professionals are not available.

The initial step is assembling all the tools needed for the dog grooming exercise, and some of them include washcloths, sponges, nail clippers, paper towels, natural shampoos, scissors, blow drier comb and a brush. If the dog has very long hair, clippers are usually used to separate the knots painlessly.

The next thing to do is choosing a place that you feel will be best to bathe the pups, for instance, a sink, bathtub or shower. The professionals say that the location is very important for the comfort of your pet as well as you. The place should offer you a convenient working surface so that you can be comfortable during the grooming process.

It is advisable to start brushing the hair of the puppy gently to prepare it for grooming. In case you find a mat during brushing, one is supposed to use a dematter that quickly removes the cloth. More so, the cleaner must make sure that he or she has used paper towels to clean the inner side of the ears ot the pet. Mineral oils are recommended for this exercise.

The next thing that the groomers do is cleaning the teeth and mouth of the puppies. This is usually done before bathing the pet and involves one to apply toothpaste to the toothbrush and then lifting one side of these jowls of pets, inserting the brush in the mouth and brushing the teeth. One should make sure that he has brushed the upper and lower teeth.

When the brushing of teeth is complete, clipping and filing the nails follows. The Clippers used are the ones used by humans, and the grinder or file is either electric or the one that humans use. Nevertheless, this activity should be carefully done to avoid clipping and filing the inner tender part of the nails that have a lot of blood capillaries.

Bathing the pet follows and the water used should be lukewarm. The pet is placed in the tub, sink or shower and saturates his coat thoroughly with water and shampoo. Natural products are highly recommended by the professionals as they do not irritate the skin. Excess oil can be removed by rinsing the puppy, and a conditioning creme is used to keep the coat shiny.

Finally, the blow drier used to dry the pups should be in medium heat. After drying the pet, the hair is brushed very gently to avoid pulling it and the brush used should be specifically for that type or breed. The eyes of the puppy are then wiped then the dog is placed on clean cloths.
