Things To Keep In Mind Before Responding To That Egyptian Maus Kittens For Sale Sign

By Lisa Hayes

You are most likely in the market right now looking for a new feline companion or a replacement one. In the course of your search, you may have most likely come across an Egyptian maus kittens for sale sign. The prospect seems promising, but before you do make a final commitment it may be a good idea to gather as much information on this breed first. Thus it may be a good idea to finish off this article first.

This cat is quite unique in a lot of respects. It looks very much like a small lynx or can even be compared to a darkly colored tree leopard due to its dark spots. It is also a cat that is very much athletically endowed and can run at speeds of up to at least thirty miles per hour. Compare this to the speed of the cheetah, a much bigger feline, that can run sixty miles per hour.

Quite a few people who have experienced a mau in their lives swear to the fact that it has springs rather than legs. This is because of its high jump height and its very active lifestyle, as it seems to never tire. Should you want to keep it at home, make sure that it has plenty of space to climb and run in, and that it does not have a lot of things that it can knock over.

Demanding a lot of attention, this cat looks like it is not the type as it shows a very calm and reserved demeanor or personality. When you see this cat as something to enter into future competitions, you would do well to make its socialize early with other humans early on when it is still a kitten.

This is also a breed that loves to eat, and it can get overweight quite fast if you do not keep an eye on the amount it does eat. When it gets used to eating a certain amount, it can in fact refuse to eat if it sees that it is not given the same large amount that it expects. Avoid making it used to eating a lot, by rewarding it wig hugs an cuddles, rather than food and snacks, for being good or just plain adorable and cute.

A particularly amazing trait with this kind of cat is that it actually sings. When it shows contentment or pleasure, instead of purring, it will chortle and chirp very much like any bird. They also chirp and such when excited when it notices new things. One should expect this to be one very curios feline when it is still very young.

Gestation periods for this cat if one plans to breed them is quite long. It will gestate from anywhere of sixty days to seventy days in total once it gets pregnant. If the gestation period is quite long one should not worry as these cats give birth pretty easily. Expect to get at least two litter of kittens every year if you have a healthy pair of cats.

Thus this article gives some good baseline information on this breed which you have an eye on. Always try to get as much information on any pet you have a mind of getting as being a pet owner takes a lot of commitment and responsibility.
