It is therefore not a dog to be kept in places of extreme climates and temperatures.

These dogs on average have lifespans of thirteen to fifteen years, which is quite long for dogs their size. The lifespans can of course be extended a bit with proper diet and nutrition. It would be wise to always have regular check ups with the vet so that you can always keep it in the prime of its health.

Health matters wise you will get some issues that are unique to this breed. As they age, they will start to develop eye conditions and complications, most generally related to corneal ulcers. Since their eyes are quite large and stick out, care should be taken when taking them out for walks or runs.
