Buying a dog can be a big commitment particularly if you choose one that gets large in size. By going with one of the small dog breeds you can expect all of your costs and many of your responsibilities to be smaller as well. However, there are a few things to think about first.

The color of a canine can play a role in some prospective owner's decision making process. It all depends what your preferences are. Color might not matter to you at all. The most sought after color group are actually small white dog breeds. This means the Bichon Frise, Maltese, and Toy Poodle.

Choosing a name can be one of the most fun parts of buying a little dog. This is doubly true if it is a boy. There are so many cute male dog names that you'll smile just saying them aloud. You can find them in your favorite movies, books, and TV shows or online. If you decide on a female there are many too so don't worry.

When contemplating a petite pooch be sure to keep the above information in mind. It will ensure you are on the right path towards finding the breed that is best for you and your family.
