In some cases, animals may be treated outside the hospital. It may be an emergency or a routine check-up for the animals. It is easier for vaccination and in-vitro insemination to be done house to house. It is convenient for farmers for example, to have arranged for a visit. Enough vehicles or motorbikes should be availed for mobility. The vehicles must be well equipped for emergency treatment.

Keeping the records of your patients is important. It facilitates follow-ups. Have a well-established filing system. Use manual files or a digitized system. Digital records are easily accessible. They can be set with reminders for follow-up treatment appointments. The records room must have restricted access. A back-up should be off site.

Other important tools are safety tools. Protective gear includes gloves, sedation shots, and protective clothing. Animals in pain are irritable. They can be dangerous. Sanitation ought to be maintained. Leashes, animal collars, weighing scales and calculators are also mandatory.
