A clinic for animals could not function properly without a veterinary employee procedures manual. This booklet or folder is a document that ensures the smooth operation of the clinic and that standard in the workplace is followed by all. In any operation, guidelines are needed to make sure that there is order and all the basic duties are performed properly.

In an organization, there are guidelines that requires to be followed to upheld the aim of the facility to provide good service to customers. It is also in the operations manual that the updates in new methods and clinical routines are included. These guides are there to ascertain that the well being of the patients and the employees are protected.

Good customer service has many rewards. One is the referrals that satisfied clients give out to their family and friends to patronize the clinic. There is also the loyalty the pet owners show to an animal health facility if they are happy with the service they have experienced in their visits. More customers result to more income for the clinic. This is the main reason it is very important that smooth operation is ensured every minute. This can be achieved if there are documents in place the workers and staff can use.

There are many factors that should be included in making a complete employee manual. One is the portion that ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of the area inside and outside the facility. The visual side of the clinic is usually the first the guests observes on entering.

The areas that need cleaning always is the waiting room and the examination room. It is in these areas the clients spend most of their time when visiting the veterinarian. Aside from then visual effect of a clean room, it is also important to help prevent the spread of diseases among animal patients. The counter tops, the floors, and the equipment used in surgery and examination should also be cleaned.

To make sure the workers are trained properly on good service, a portion of the manual should be dedicated to proper customer interaction guidelines. Most workers in animal health institutions have close contact not only with the patient but also with the owner. Thus, it is helpful if most if not all the staff is articulate and polite in helping explain the different treatment procedures to clients.

Some clinics require the staff to take care of the scheduling of appointments, examinations, and surgeries. There are also staff assigned to collect the fees incurred with each visit. Vet nurses also assist in the surgery and are expected to be able to answer the queries of owners after their pets have undergone surgery.

Aside from caring for the animal patients, veterinary clinics also require administrative managers. These employees are accountable for the smooth work of the facility. It is also the work of the administrative employee to accomplish payrolls and tax books, inventory and purchase of supplies, and overall management of the clinic staff.

Marketing plans should be enclosed in the procedures. Increasing the sales should be the concern of all employees. The marketing strategy should be known to all the staff and should be included in the veterinary employee procedures manual.
