Generally they are healthy and may live as long as twelve years, or more. The most common threats to their health are feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is a heart disease, and hip dysplasia. It is important to take the cat to the veterinarian at least annually for a routine check-up including screening for these disorders. Fortunately if caught early, both of these issues may respond to antioxidant therapy.

This type of cat loves human attention more than anything and needs it to be happy. They will wait with anticipation for their owner to return home and look forward to a belly rub or chin scratching. At night they almost always sleep with their masters.
