The breed can be known at times for it's aggressive behavior but with proper exercise and attention it is often never a problem. Early obedience training as a puppy is strongly recommended as well as correcting any negative social behaviors.

Good breeders will not ever force a dog to be penned up. Plenty of space should always be provided for them so that they can play and run around. Food and water should always be easy and in reach for the dog at all times through out the day. The dogs do not bark very often like other dogs do. They do however, howl and may even make a high pitched noise similar to screaming when they want attention.
